About Us
Spear C Stables and North 2 Ranch are located in Rexburg, Idaho. Nestled in a valley surrounded by the Teton Mountain Range, our world famous sanddunes, and the Snake River. We are less than 100 miles from Yellowstone National Park.
In race training now is the 2008 gelding Mr. Manly by Gone Irish. He will start his racing career in 2011 as a 3 year old. Along with racing, we also enjoy taking our race horses and show horses for trail rides in the mountains.
Cal Murdock, owner of Spear C Stables, started training race horses in 1962. In 1990 he placed 3rd in the World Championship in Chariot Racing. Cal also worked as an outfitter, packing mules into the mountains. For fun, he has a team of roan quarter horses he drives on long wagon trains. Cal is owner/manager of the sales.
Amanda Peterson, originally from Oklahoma, is owner of North 2 Ranch. Her grandparents bred & raced appendix quarter horses and raised thoroughbred mules. Amanda is owner/manager of the stallion Gone Irish and is owner/trainer of Mr. Manly. For fun, she enjoys trail riding and scuba diving.
